Sharp Angle was founded by Steven Ramirez, a film industry executive with over 15 years of professional experience in the field. Our consulting firm’s expertise spans theatrical, DVD, television, new media technology, and internet markets. We assist clients nationwide as well as international producers seeking assistance in the U.S. We work in all genres and formats.

Steven has held a variety of distribution and marketing roles with Warner Bros. (Director of International Distribution), New Line Cinema (Vice President of Marketing), and Twentieth Century Fox (International Sales & Marketing).


What do we know about documentaries?

As the current President of the Film Arts Foundation, Steven is the Chair of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, providing oversight for over 300 documentary features and shorts receiving both Grants and Fiscal Sponsorship.

Documentaries sponsored by the Foundation have been nominated for (and many have won!) awards at every major film festival (Sundance, TriBecca, HotDocs, Slamdance, San Francisco International, etc.) Steven regularly participates on industry panels and writes articles related to film financing and distribution. In addition to his industry knowledge, he has an MBA from Berkeley.
